UNMAPPED COUNTRY

In this series of 35mm photographs, the artist explores the intersections of memory and identity, particularly as they apply to the displaced. The series took shape during a photographic journey across Iran, when the Montreal-based artist attempted to examine her relationship, as a rebellious young woman, with her surroundings through the camera’s lens. The hazy imagery marks a transient encounter, freezing a scene that might forever be lost due to ongoing ecological transformations.
